Hard-core athletes from around the world converge in South Florida this Sunday, January 28 for the Miami Marathon. An official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, the race begins on Biscayne Boulevard and cruises through the city. Over 25,000 world-class runners are expected to compete in the 2018 race. The Miami Marathon’s spectacular course has increased the race’s appeal since launching in 2003, making it one of the fastest-growing marathons on the planet.

What Is the Course of the Miami Marathon?

From the starting line next to American Airlines Arena, the course follows MacArthur Causeway past the Port of Miami and on to South Beach. Runners head north along Ocean Drive and race back to the city via the Venetian Causeway. After passing through Brickell, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, and back again – the athletes reach the finish line at Bayfront Park.
