The Fillmore Miami Beach is the most historical and well known performing arts venue on the island. Originally, it served as the home of iconic programs like The Ed Sullivan Show, The Dick Clark Show and, of course, the Jackie Gleason Show. In the decades since, it's seen a number of different performances including broadway productions of My Fair Lady, concerts by Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope, and a rebranding with the historic chain of Fillmore concert venues in 2007.
Located on Washington Avenue, the concert hall is one of the most centrally located of Miami Beach's most popular tourist attractions. Right next to center city, folks heading out for a show at the Fillmore Miami Beach can combine it with shopping at the Lincoln Road Mall or a nice dinner at Sushisamba or Yuca. It's also within walking distance of the New World Symphony and Miami Beach Convention Center.
Things to Check Out
There are a number of great shows coming in and out of the Fillmore Miami Beach throughout the year. In the recent past, they've had Cuban guitar legend Chucho Valdes, as well as comedians Eddie Izzard and Craig Ferguson.
In addition to the programming, be sure to take a minute to check out the Fillmore Miami Beach's gorgeous art deco facade. A baby blue color scheme with pillars and a vintage marquee, it's truly in line with the city's aesthetic, as well as providing a generally cool visual atmosphere for your concert night in Miami Beach.
