Miami Beach The Art Deco Museum

The Art Deco Museum in Miami Beach offers tourists a glimpse into the renowned architectural history and landscape of this city. Presented by the Miami Design Preservation League, the museum's exhibits feature scale models of distinguished buildings, Art Deco prints, and period furniture. The Preservation League also leads themed architectural tours of South Beach.
At the Art Deco Museum, visitors will learn about the three major architecture styles on view in Miami Beach. Learn the distinct characteristics that make a building Mediterranean Revival or Miami Modern (MiMo), and, of course, get all your questions answered about the Art Deco movement that swept the city and helped make it a global destination for architecture fans.
After visiting the museum, put your newfound knowledge to the test and take to the streets of South Beach for one of the Miami Design Preservation League's highly curated neighborhood tours. The 90-minute Official Art Deco District Walking Tour takes you inside many of the area's historic hotels, restaurants, and shops while an expert guide shares details about South Beach culture. The Preservation has more focused tours as well, such as the Jewish Miami Beach Tour, the MiMo Tour, the Gay & Lesbian Walking Tour, as well as self-guided audio tours. Walk-ins welcome, this is an easy alternative to a day at the beach.
