The most refined way to celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend in Miami could be the Miami Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of “Your Valentine Date.” The orchestra will perform matching sets on consecutive nights, each featuring a program of five of the most sensual classical pieces ever written. Compositions by Prokofiev, Addinsell, Debussy, Bernstein, and Marquez will take center stage, each artfully rendered by the MISO’s expert musicians.
The acclaimed orchestra — led by Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra — will perform twice over Valentine’s Day weekend. The first performance, on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2015) will take place at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center on the mainland, with the second and final performance the following evening at the New World Center in Miami Beach.
