The illustrious Collins Park — right here in Miami Beach — will host one of the country’s premier equestrian showcases this April. The three-day event will feature the 43rd consecutive American Invitational competition along with the $600,000 Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix.
Each competition taking place over the course of the weekend is centered on the beloved and growing sport of show jumping, one of the most celebrated equestrian practices.
In the press release for the upcoming competitions, prospective American competitor Kent Farrington said, “This is great exposure for the sport of show jumping. The Longines Global Champions Tour has been a huge boost to the sport worldwide and having the first leg of it in Miami Beach, when so many of us are in Florida already, is a great fit and exciting for everyone involved.”
Farrington does touch upon the point that Florida is an equestrian destination, which will ensure the high quality and smooth facilitation of the impending tournament. With industry experts and professionals running the weekend stretch of events, beautiful courses freshly constructed and the sands of South Beach just minutes from the competition, the weekend promises to provide an incredible run of show-jumping competitions.
The main event, the American Invitational, will take place on Friday, April 3rd. As one of the most renowned and highest-stakes equestrian show jumping competitions in the world, it’s sure to draw some phenomenal horses and athletes. Having long been held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, we are all excited to have a turn with this prestigious competition right here in Miami Beach.
