The SoBe Wine & Food Festival is one of the biggest culinary events in the country. Some of the world’s most well known chefs will descend on  Miami to do cooking classes, demonstrations, and prepare tastings. Personalities like Andrew Zimmern, Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, and Duff Goldman will fill the many stages and kitchens.

Here’s what we are most excited for:

Goya Foods Grand Tasting Village

This gathering on Ocean Drive is the festival’s signature gatherings. Restaurants from all over South Florida like Proof Pizza, The Oceanaire, and Barton G will offer small bites with wine and spirit tastings. Additionally, there will be a series of non-stop culinary demos at the tasting village. Feel like you’re in the studio of a cooking show with Michael Symon, Rachel Ray, and Emeril Lagasse.

Local Gatherings

In addition to worldly celebrities, a number of local chefs will host events around town during the festival.  One we are particularly excited for is the the Exploring Israel Dinner at the Chabad Downtown Jewish Center on Thursday at 7pm. Late Saturday night, there is the Croqueta & Champagne event where over a dozen of the city’s best Latin chefs will prepare delectable fried goodies for you to taste as you sip on endless champagne and listen to a beloved local rock band—Suenalo.

Seminars

Wine Spectator will put on a series of seminars where amateurs and aficionados can come to learn about how to taste and recognize varietals from all over the world. There will also be a seminar on beer and brewing from J. Wakefield Brewing of Wynwood as well as courses on pairing things like seafood and wine, chocolate and spirits, wine and cheese, and more.

Late-Night Parties

After a day of demos and seminars head to one of the late night events to party as you sip and munch. At Cigars & Spirits you can try some exclusive whiskies, bourbons, and scotches under the stars as you enjoy a stogie  courtesy of Cigar Aficionado. Can you imagine anyone on the Food Network you would rather party with than Guy Fieri? Join him for a night of tropical inspired cocktails as bartenders from around the country compete to see who can concoct the best rum-inspired drink.
