Sometimes it’s nice to take a day off from all the glitz and glam of South Beach and enjoy Miami Beach’s more low-key hangouts that Miami Beach. Here are a few of our favorite spots you can find a small crowd, and still have a good time.

Bodega Taqueria & Tequila

On the west side of South Beach, you’ll find this funky late-night taqueria that not only serves up zesty tacos, but also has a “secret” bar. Pass the door that says “baños” to find an intimate hipster bar with plush red couches, Persian rugs, and a mix of funky chandeliers.

On the Rocks

Located in North Beach, far from bustling South Beach, is this laidback, nautically themed bar. The storefront dive has a jukebox with plenty of Latin tunes, a pool table, and TVs. This local favorite is the perfect spot if you’re looking for friendly staff and chill atmosphere.

Sandbar Lounge

Another local favorite, this North Beach dive bar is just a place to hang out, drink beer, and run your toes through the 1-2 inch layer of sand spread about the floor. That’s right, there is actually sand surrounding the indoor bar.
